The desire to look young and attractive is as old as human history. This incredible time in history allows us to improve, maintain or restore our appearance in ways that would have seemed nothing short of magical just a few years ago. Even when we are young, there may be something about our appearance that we don’t like, something that might affect our self-esteem or confidence, or something that can easily be changed with a little facial filler!
Fillers can change a little or change a lot!
Features that are considered attractive are associated with facial shape in areas such as cheeks, jawline, chin, and lips. If we are born lacking in any area of our features, facial fillers can be used to compensate for the deficit by placing volume precisely where it is needed. Features can be enhanced and contoured to help women and men achieve the look they desire. It is truly remarkable to see what even a subtle enhancement can do to improve one’s overall appearance!
The fountain of youth comes in a syringe!
As we age, the fat pads that give the face its youthful shape shrink and shift. Bone density also decreases. The lost fullness can be evident around the forehead, eyes, brows, temples, cheeks, and mouth. An aging face may become drawn and sunken in appearance, especially around the eyes, cheeks, and chin. Jowls appear, the volume and definition of the lips decrease, and as everything gravitates inward and downward, creases develop at the corners of the mouth, nasolabial folds deepen, and jawline definition is lost. These factors can all be addressed with facial fillers! Ageing is a fact of life. Looking your age is optional!
Are facial fillers safe?
Injecting facial fillers (and neuromodulators) is not without risk and it is important for you to know this. As the popularity of cosmetic injections has grown, the number of doctors and nurses who inject has also grown. It is important for you to recognize that just because an injector when to medical school and refers to themselves as “advanced” does not necessarily make it true. When choosing an injector, keep in mind that beyond basic training, injecting is an art that takes years to perfect. Becoming a highly skilled cosmetic injector requires years of continuing education, intricate knowledge of facial anatomy, and a steady hand.
Experience matters!
Asking about the experience of your injector is wise! Beyond basic training, a skilled injector must also possess a gentle manner and an eye for beauty. Skinpossible’s injectors are doctors and nurses with many years of training and practical application. Each with years of experience, they are truly advanced. They are skilled artists who can be trusted to safely deliver beautiful cosmetic outcomes!
Administering facial fillers in an “art”!
Facial fillers can be wonderful when injected artfully, creating results that are so natural that even an educated eye can’t tell you had it done. Poorly placed fillers, on the other hand, can create results that look odd. The skill and experience of your injector will very much dictate the outcome. The key is to use the right filler, inject enough, place it properly and not overdo it. The changes will be subtle, but the difference can be dramatic.
But don’t pay top dollar for “Art” alone!
The saying “you get what you pay for” should apply but doesn’t always. When it comes to cosmetic injections we have seen variations in price from one Calgary filler provider to another and the fluctuations are not always warranted, or even explicable. Some prices are so low you might be wise to wonder what product they are using and what else they might be doing to cut costs. We’ve also seen very high prices by skilled artists using cheap fillers and justifying the cost based on their “art.” It’s well worth paying for a skilled artist, but just as not all cosmetic injectors have the same skillset, not all injectable products are created equal. Price, quality, and longevity vary greatly. To get your money’s worth, insist on long-lasting products too. At Skinpossible we offer premium products!
How long do fillers last?
There are numerous brands of fillers and the longevity of each varies greatly. It’s a simple fact that premium product lines last longer and within product lines, thicker fillers generally last longer than fillers that are more fluid. Comparable viscosities within a brand can also vary depending on the molecular structure. The degree of movement in the area of the face where the filler is placed also plays a role. Filler in areas with more activity such as the lips will metabolize faster than filler in areas that move very little such as the cheeks, temples, jawline, or orbits of the eyes. Some people tend to metabolize filler faster than others. With too many variables to give a specific answer that would apply to all, a general answer is that fillers may last as little as three months but, in some cases, up to four years! We’ll be happy to explain more at the time of your treatment or consultation.
How much do facial fillers cost?
Skinpossible uses premium fillers because they simply last longer. While our wholesale costs are higher than we could pay by offering cheaper brands, our patients have told us they appreciate the added value and the need for maintenance treatments less frequently. The cost for fillers at Skinpossible ranges from $399 for our mini-lip enhancement, and increases depending on which brand of filler and how much product is used to do your procedure. For larger treatments, we have fantastic savings available with package pricing!
Does a facial filler or lip filler procedure hurt?
Skinpossible’s advanced techniques will ensure your comfort! In areas where a high degree of precision is needed, we transfer the filler into smaller needles before we inject it. In areas such as the lips, we will first apply complimentary numbing cream to desensitize the skin. We may choose to avoid the use of needles altogether and use a micro-cannula to place the filler. The micro-cannula is being called the ‘Ouchless Needle.' It is small and the tip is rounded. The value of the blunt tip is that it is comfortable and the risk of bruising and damage to the skin is minimal. All of Skinpossible’s fillers have built-in Lidocaine, a numbing agent, for maximum comfort! For added comfort or anxiety, we can also offer Pronox.
Concerned about bruising?
In the event of a bruise, we can treat it with the vascular filter on our BBL for a quick resolution! We do not charge for this service but can only perform it if you wear SPF daily.
Results are instant and natural in appearance!
With precise injection points, low injection volume, and specific injection techniques (some with a needle, some with a micro-cannula, some with a linear or fanning technique), Skinpossible’s cosmetic injectors deliver beautiful and natural results. Your filler treatment will be customized specifically for you to create the most attractive results possible. You will look just like yourself, only better! Combining filler with Neuromodulators such as Botox and Dysport is nothing short of life-changing.

Dermal Fillers FAQ
What's the difference between Botox and Filler? +
Botox Cosmetic is used to relax facial muscles that cause excessive animation of the face, which causes wrinkles that eventually become permanently etched into our features. Dermal Fillers are used to replace lost volume or add volume where never existed.
How long does it take to do a dermal filler treatment? How long will it take to see results from dermal fillers such as Juvederm or Teosyal? +
At Skinpossible we pride ourselves in delivering a relaxed treatment experience. Depending on how many areas of the face are being treated, it could take as little as 15 minutes to perform your service. We always reserve at least 45 minutes or longer to perform your treatment, however, so you will never feel rushed or pressured. Results are instant!
How long do results from dermal fillers such as Juvederm and Teosyal last? +
As with other Hyaluronic Acid fillers, Teosyal and Juvederm will be absorbed naturally by the body over time. Some people will metabolize it faster than others. The duration of the filling effect varies based on the facial areas treated, the thickness of the product used, and other factors such as the structure of the skin, lifestyle and age. We lose Hyaluronic Acid faster if we spend a lot of time in the sun. The result lasts longer in areas less affected by animation. When used to plump up a scar the result will last longer than when used around the mouth, for example, where there is much more movement. Timely touch-up and follow-up treatment will add to the duration. Results from fillers generally last from 6 months and for periods up to 2 years in most people.
Are there any other benefits of Hyaluronic acid dermal filler injections? +
Yes! Hyaluronic acid also appears to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, two proteins that contribute to the skin’s fullness and elasticity. One study found that Hyaluronic acid works on fibroblasts (connective tissue cells) in a way that causes new collagen to form in the skin. This may halt the age and sun-related breakdown of existing collagen.
Are there any side effects from dermal fillers +
Hyaluronic Acid dermal filler is a safe procedure for all skin types and colours. Some common injection-related reactions such as bruising and swelling might occur. Erythema, swelling, pain, itching, discoloration or tenderness to the injection site resolve themselves and are short-lived.
How much does Teosyal and Juvederm cost? +
Dermal fillers are purchased by the syringe and the price per syringe varies from product to product. The price of your procedure will vary depending on the area to be treated and the amount of product required to achieve the desired result. In any case, when the total price is calculated on the number of months you will benefit from the procedure, it is a small price to pay for the improved confidence and self-esteem you will enjoy.
What is a Softlift? +
A combination of Botox and Hyaluronic Acid filler has been found to produce an effect that lasts longer than either modality used separately. Softlift is a name coined by Allergan, the manufacturer of both Botox and Juvederm. The same benefit and effect can be achieved combining Botox with any brand of dermal fillers.
Which is better dermal fillers or Ultherapy? +
Ultherapy and dermal fillers are completely different. Fillers may help slow down the loss of collagen, but Ultherapy can replace collagen already lost. Ultherapy tightens and lifts skin to stimulate the production of new collagen in the skin. The collagen producing benefits from Ultherapy can actually make the skin stronger and more toned to restore the skin to a more youthful condition. Ultherapy can make the skin stronger and thicker but cannot replace lost volume as fillers can. An Ultherapy treatment may reduce the amount of filler needed, however, so the two in combination complement each other beautifully.
Can dermal fillers get rid of wrinkles? +
Filler can fill deep wrinkles but there are more effective and affordable solutions to smooth out wrinkles and fine lines. To stop excessive animation of the face that causes wrinkles to appear, Botox is the treatment of choice. To reduce or erase fine lines CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing is the best choice. Other options exist for getting rid of wrinkles as well. If you are considering a filler treatment perhaps you would benefit from a consultation first to be sure you are investing in the solutions that are right for you.
How can I make my hands look younger? Can Dermal Fillers be used in hands? +
The answer is YES IT CAN! As we age we lose volume in our hands. Dermal fillers can be used to restore the volume to make hands appear more youthful. The procedure is quick and painless.
What are other dermal fillers / facial fillers made from? +
There are many different types of dermal fillers and many manufacturers. Skinpossible only uses filler that is made from Hyaluronic Acid which is a naturally-occurring substance in our skin (Juvederm™, Restylane™, Teosyal™). The products we use are all derived from plants, not animal products. Other fillers classified as semi-permanent or permanent can be made from Collagen (Zyplast™/Zyderm™) or from synthetic products such as calcium hydroxyapapite (Radiesse™). Fillers can even be made, fully or in part, from acrylics or plastics or even silicone. Skinpossible will not use synthetic fillers and will not do fillers for you if you have had certain products previously injected (Bioaclamide™, Dermalive™, Dermadeep™,Beauticall™,Artecol™, Artesense™). As a matter of interest regarding synthetic permanent fillers, that is what happened to Priscilla Presley.
I don't want to look unnatural. Will fillers make me look unnatural? +
Filler is an art. Poorly placed filler or too much filler can make you look unnatural. The key to looking natural is to only trust your procedure to a skilled injector and to not overdo it. Filler can only do so much. For the best overall result it is best to use a combination of treatments instead of filler alone.
If I don’t like the result can filler be removed? +
Yes. Hyaluronic Acid can be dissolved with small injections of an enzyme called hyaluronidase.
